I cannot get the decimal point to show in the rate, what should I do? |
If your PC is set to non-US settings, you can experience that the DDE link does not display the decimal. An easy workaround should be that you use US settings for the decimal point (i.e. '.' instead of ',') This will affect the number formatting of the system, however, and mean that your clients will get an "error 13: mismatch" What you have to do, is run the DDE link through Excel. Establish a link to a sheet, and name the sheet "Link.xls". Rename the sheet ("sheet1") to "rates". In the adjacent cell to the link, divide the rate by the factor to give the correct decimal place. e.g. with EUR/USD, divide by 10,000. Name the cell where this result is to 'Bid' or 'Ask' or 'Mid' (see below) Save the sheet. In the Parity Engine dialog, set the Service to "Excel", the Topic to [Link.xls]Rates and the item to the name you have chosen ('Bid' or 'Ask' or 'Mid' ) One advantage of working this way is that you can calculate a mid rate by linking to the bid and the ask, adding the rates together and dividing by 2. |
